People

I am extremely lucky to have incredible people in my life. Family, friends, mentors, acquaintances. I have a breadth of beautiful and inspiring people. People that make me laugh. People that make me cry. People that make me have fun. People that make me work hard. People that inspire me. People that bring me to reality.

I have the perfect balance of different kinds of people in my life.

Lately, my mind, along with my heart, have been everywhere. And as I have been trying to figure it all out, I have been confiding in those I love most. Searching for advice, answers, inspiration.

This led to a couple things. I have realized how the people in my life are similar to me. I have realized how we differ as well.

At first, it frustrated me when others didn’t say the “right” thing to me when I confided. “You’ll never understand. It’s okay we’re just different.”

These thoughts (and more) ran through my mind.

And then, after a long, talk—I realized something else.

The people in your life are there for a reason, and they should be different than you.

It doesn’t matter if they don’t understand your way of thinking, as long as they support it. It doesn’t matter if they don’t see eye to eye with you as long as they try.

They don’t have to completely understand, because no one will—you’re lucky if you yourself do.
