New

It’s interesting how we get set in our ways.

It’s interesting how, at such a young age, we get set in our ways.

I’ve always been someone with less good friends rather than more acquaintances. It’s nice to have people by your side that really know you— that have been there through tough times and love you just the same.

As the years have passed I have become even more about quality over quantity, I have become even more about staying in touch with old friends and deepening the relationships I have.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am beyond fortunate for the friends, the family, the support system and the people I have in my life. I am beyond fortunate to have relationships with people I’ve known since preschool, fifth grade, high school, and my different years in college.

What is important to remember though, is that it’s never too late for new.

New relationships, new connections, new friends.

There are so many wonderful people in the world. There are so many wonderful people that we come across every day.

There are so many people that we miss. Whether it’s because we’re too lazy, too comfortable, or too convinced we wouldn’t have anything in common, we miss them just the same.

Often we get too stuck in our ways. Going to our obligations, learning just enough about others, and going home.

And that’s a shame.

It’s a shame that we miss out on conversations. It’s a shame that we miss out on other points of view. It’s a shame that we miss out on new memories and laughter.

It’s a shame that we get so wrapped up in our own world, that we miss out on everyone else’s.

Let’s quit missing them. Let’s quit being comfortable.

Let’s start something new.
