Superwoman

One of the hardest things to do in life is to admit that you need help.

And for me, one of the hardest things in life is to admit that maybe, just maybe, I can’t do it all.

It’s not easy to look at the schedule that you had so meticulously planned out, only to realize that although it all seemed perfect, it was just too much to handle. It’s not easy to fall short of your expectations. It’s not easy to have to call your parents up and let them know that although you thought you could do it all, you can’t after all.

It’s not easy to admit that you aren’t super(wo)man.

One of the hardest things in life is to get rid of obligations, especially ones that you hold dear to your heart.

But sometimes, we have to take a step back. We have to realize that although we may think we can be the exception— the one person that doesn’t need a work/life balance, the one person that people look to as a role model for work load and accomplishment, that maybe we can’t, and that maybe, that’s okay.

I guess part of growing up is realizing what is truly important to you. It’s realizing that while you’re now putting work, academics, and different obligations ahead of some other things, you are also putting your family, your different passions, and your time for personal growth ahead as well.

It’s about finding a balance in this chaotic and tough to keep up life. It’s about admitting that, while you do have “as many hours in a day as Beyonce”, even she couldn’t take on all of the tasks you put on your list.
