Work

There’s a difference between working for money and working for, anything else.

I don’t do what I do for the money. Don’t get me wrong— I like nice things, love online shopping (just ask my roommates), and being financially stable, supporting myself, and being able to participate in different experiences is important to me.

But, when I walk into an obligation each morning, that’s not what it’s about. It’s not about making sure I clock in at exactly the right time, it’s not about a higher wage (although I doubt I would ever oppose).

It’s about me, my work, my progress.

It’s about waking up each morning in pursuit of my passions. It’s about loving what I do each day, or at least doing something now that will get me there someday.

As I progress in my life, I’m sure that the money will become more of an issue. I will need more things, potentially have others to support.

And maybe, it will someday be my sole reason for doing what I do. But for now, I’m doing it for me. I’m doing it for my family. I’m doing it for those that look up to me. I’m doing it to hopefully make a difference, to make it matter.

I’m doing it to ensure that I live a passionate life, and that includes from 9 to 5.
