Perspectives

“You know, really, life is just a series of chapters. And you know the cool thing about it? You write them.”

Coming together with friends and family during the holidays is an invaluable experience.

Not only is it good for your heart, soul and sense of gratitude, but reuniting with friends your age, younger, and older also offers an enormous opportunity for the obtaining of wisdom and different perspectives.

As I spoke with others at our annual Christmas Eve celebration, I came to the realization that we have all been through stuff (duh).

We have all been through stuff that allows us to have a different perspective about certain things— about how to handle certain situations, about how to feel about certain topics, about how to really look at life.

We all have different ideas and perspectives to offer one another. Every conversation you have with someone can lead to something great, and what you take away from each conversation is entirely up to you.

These conversations will help you realize that it all works out, that you need to enjoy the little things in life, that hard work does not go unnoticed— that you can truly do whatever you want to do.

Think about where people have been, what they have done. Think about what “stuff” they have been through. Get the most out of your conversations, leave each one of them with more wisdom than before— because we all have something to offer one another, and we all have the power to change the way someone looks at something, to change their mindset for the better.

While we have the power to change someone’s ideas with a conversation, we also have a greater power— to sit back and actually listen to the wisdom of others.

So, what did I get, from someone I look up to you for their strength and grace in times of hardship?
